Donna rotonda

"Donna rotonda" è una scultura in marmo di Carrara situata nella via Moglianese tra Scorzè e Peseggia.

L'opera commissionata dalla provincia di Venezia è stata realizzata dall'artista Giovanni Pietrobon. 

Mentre si percorre la rotatoria, le due lastre di marmo rivelano progressivamente le forme armoniose di una donna.

Giovanni Pietrobon è nato a Treviso nel 1981.
Ha frequentato l'Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia e si è dedicato allo studio del corpo umano, soprattutto quello femminile, che lo ha portato ad un suo personale linguaggio espressivo.
Attraverso questa sua ricerca nascono le steatopigie, i negativi di donna e le fenici, sculture che sottolineano l'essenza della forma femminile e che svelano il pensiero dell'artista sulla sacralità della donna.
Nell'opera di Giovanni Pietrobon è possibile cogliere la simbiosi tra l'aspetto sensuale e sacro: la donna intesa come corpo che seduce con le sue forme ma allo stesso tempo tabernacolo della vita. Così la donna, oltre che un Essere che attrae, è anche icona divina, oggetto venerabile.

"Donna rotonda" is a sculpture in marble of Carrara on a street between Scorzè and Peseggia

The work commissioned by Venice province was created by the artist Giovanni Pietrobon. 

As you come across the roundabout, the two marble slabs progressively reveal the harmonious shapes of a woman.

Giovanni was born in Treviso in 1981.
He graduated from the academy of fine arts in Venice. His study of the human body, with a focus on the female one, has led him to the development of his own expressive style. Through this research, he came to realize his series of Steatopygias, Women’s Negatives and Phoenixes: these sculptures highlight the essence of the female shape and reveal the artist’s thought regarding the Woman’s sacrality. Giovanni’s art also uncover the symbiotic relationtionship between the sacred and the sensuous: the Woman is  meant as an attractive body which seduces with its shapes, but she is also a temple of life, a life giver. So the Woman is a seducing human being but also a sacred icon, a venerable object.
