Questa cache vi condurrà lungo il vero Sentiero della Salvia, dove tra ampi scorci sul mare e il profumo della salvia potrete abbinare una graziosa passeggiata nel Carso ad una piccola avventura geocaching!
Lasciate l’auto nei pressi del centro abitato di Aurisina (Park n° 1) ed imboccate il sentiero contrassegnato con il numero 1 (percorso didattico di Aurisina, P.D.A.) che si addentra nel bosco, raggiungendo la torre Liburnia. Proseguite oltre, per circa venti metri, svoltando quindi a destra su un sentiero più piccolo. Percorretelo per circa 200 metri, prima di lasciarlo per salire alla vostra destra, attraversando quindi una vasta area di pietre carsiche. E…. la cache sarà lì ad aspettarvi!
Potrete ranngiungere la cache anche parcheggiando (Park n° 2) nei pressi delle scuole medie di Aurisina, seguendo poi le indicazioni per il Sentiero della Salvia: il percorso fino alla cache è leggermente più lungo, ma di sicuro ugualmente caratteristico!
Godetevi le numerose passeggiate che si possono fare su questa parte di bosco carsico che si affaccia sul mare: oltre agli splendidi panorami che sicuramente scorgerete qua e là, potrete fare un’escursione lungo il cosiddetto Sentiero dei Pescatori che, con buona volontà ed allenamento, vi porterà fino al mare. Oppure, sempre seguendo il sentiero contrassegnato con il numero 1, potrete proseguire fino al caratteristico abitato di Santa Croce, e da qui fino alla vedetta Slataper.. insomma, i percorsi non mancano!

This cache leads to the true "Sentiero della Salvia" ("Sage path"), where you may enjoy a nice walk around the Karst plateau together with a geocaching adventure in a special area with a beautiful view over the Adriatic sea and an intense sage smell, particularly during summertime!
You may park your car near Aurisina town centre (Park n°1) and take path #1 (P.D.A.) towards "Vedetta Liburnia". Approximately 20 metres after the tower, a smaller path leaves the main one on your right handside: walk along this smaller trail for 200 metres until on your right you shall see a limestone scree. Leave the trail, walk across the scree and you'll find the cache straight away!
You may also leave your car in the proximity of Aurisina secondary school (Park n°2), and follow the "Sentiero della Salvia" in the opposite direction: the walk to the cache is slightly longer but still great fun.
In this area of the Karst plateau you may also enjoy several different hikes, all characterised by an amazing view all over the gulf of Trieste. For instance, you can follow the Fishermen trail that, with a little bit of training and good will, leads you right to the seaside and back to Aurisina. It is also possible to walk along path #1 to reach the small Santa Croce village and even beyond to the "Vedetta Slataper"...as you can see, there are many different choices: just follow your feet!
