Geocaching’s souvenirs are awarded when you attend a certain Geo-event, discover a cache in a specific location, or find a cache on a specific (oftentimes memorable) day.

Geocaching separates the different souvenirs into three types.

1. Location (countries, states, regions, GeoTours)
2. Specific dates and times (sorted by years starting in 2010)
3. Unique (Original Stash Tribute Plaque, Project A.P.E. Cache, Geocaching Headquarters)


Project-GC categorizes the different souvenirs into 6 types.

1. Country There are 76 “country” souvenirs as of 2/25/2021.
2. Region There are 94 “region” souvenirs, from 5 countries, as of 2/25/2021.
3. Unique Events: Going APE events, Tri-Cities Geocoin Challenge, Geo-Woodstock, etc.
4. Event Related: GIFF events, CITOs, etc.
5. Specific Day:
     Dec. 31 - End of year / Jan. 1 - Start of Year,
     Feb 29th - Leap Day,
     March 14 - Pi day,
     May 2nd - Blue Switch Day,
     August 16th (approx.) - International Geocaching Day,
     October 13th (approx.) - International Earth Cache Day,
     CITOs - varies for day/week/month/season,
     etc.
6. Other Long Term and Unique Challenges: Hidden Creatures (2018), Wonders of the World (2020), Geocaching Headquarters, etc.
