Geocache Description:

Along the C24 / M47 gravel road from Rehoboth on the way to Sesriem and Sossusvlei you will pass a outcrop of large ingious / granite boulders. The rock is similar to that found at the Spitzkoppe. It is a nice place to stop, rest in the shade (if the sun is right) and take a few photos. You get a decent view from the top of the rocks. There are few caches in this area and this place was the perfect location for a quick roadside one.

On the South South West side there is a tree climbing its way up the side of the large boulder.

To get to the cache you will have to scamper up and between the rocks a few meters to the right of the tree till you reach the natural split between the two main boulders. The split runs paralell to the road.

Enjoy the views and climb safely.

PS: The name of the cache "Skaam Rots" is Afrikaans for "Shy Rock". We decided on this name becuase when we first drove past the location there were already people there taking photos by the main boulder and we were a bit "shy" to disturb them whilst finding a suitable hiding spot - we came back a few days later to hide the cache.
