How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

The river channel along here and further upstream has been modified. Water was used to power a sawmill until the mid-20th century.
Look out for the views across to Tor Achilty. There may have been a fort on top of the hill as one of the slopes is called Bruthach an Ràtha which means 'the slope of the ancient fort'.

Tweezers are essential! This is a nano cache so the log is small. Please sign with initials and on both sides to save space!

Many thanks to Contin Church for their kind permission to place the caches on the island and to Contin Community Council for their support and permission to use photos and information from their Contin Island leaflet What Contin Means To Me.
