Geocache Description:

Stuff you should know:  The cache is in Forest Hill Park.  This park is shared by Cleveland Heights and East Cleveland.  The parking areas are in Cleveland Heights and the cache is in East Cleveland.  Signs in the Cleveland Heights area say, "Animals not allowed."  I've not seen any signs about animals in the East Cleveland portion.  For what it is worth, I've brought my dog here many times.  I've seen many others with their dogs too.  When you are close, choose your path carefully.  There are thorn bushes nearby.  But if you look around, you can avoid most of them.

Now, about the hide.  This area once belonged to John D. Rockefeller.  He had a summer home here, about 1880.   I've put a couple photos in the gallery.  If you wish to walk to where his house was located, head west along the paved path.  The home sat at the top of the hill.  It still is a great view of Lake Erie. There is still one, small, shed type building in the park that I think was part of his estate. There are many rock walls and roads, paths, that I think were installed by Rockefeller too.   This cache is located in an urban park.  Some folks may be hesitant about visiting.  I've walked here often.  I am comfortable here. I think it would make a nice addition to the Cleveland Metroparks.  However, each of us has a different level of comfort in urban settings.  USE YOUR OWN JUDGEMENT when attempting any geocache.
