Between Shoal Bay and George Point is an open, 8 km wide, north facing bay, bordered by high land behind Shoal Bay, with the low ground of Dingo Beach in the centre and hilly terrain rising to over 300 m toward George Point. The shoreline consists of a series of small bedrock-controlled embayments containing nine beaches, and three small islands. All the beaches face essentially north and are low energy, with calm conditions or low waves dominating. The Dingo Beach Road reaches the coast at Dingo Beach; from there a western road runs out to Sinclaire Bay and an eastern road to Nelly and Jonah Bays.Nelly Bay (985) lies on the eastern side of the point and is a 1.2 km long, north-east facing, curving beach, bordered on the east by a 60 m high wooded headland. The western end of the beach has been developed for housing and small tinnies are stored on the beach. The high tide beach is relatively narrow and steep, with beachrock outcropping in places.
Swimming
The main swimming area is in the tidal enclosure at Dingo Beach. If swimming at other beaches it is always better toward high tide, owing to shallow flats off all beaches, together with numerous rocks.
Fishing
There are numerous rock and reef flats off the beaches that can be fished at high tide. Rock fishing is also possible from the many headlands and rocks.
