Geocache Description:


The Reading Room was built around 1900 by Mr W.H.Greville Edwards.

It can be seen just around the corner in Parsonage lane.

 

The reading room was for the use of the men of the village and it was later furnished with a Billiard table.

Since then the Billiard and Snooker Club have had the use of this room.

The deeds were transferred to the Rector in 1905 and the maintence and up keep is done by the Parish Council.

This Telephone box is now the reading room for Winford ( Winford Book Box ).

The Winford Book Box was opened on 6th May 2017 with the suport of the Winford Parish Concil and Bristol Airport community fund and is run by a local team of volunteers who maintain the box and the books within it that are For loan only and should be returned to the box once read.
