Welcome to Hoffman Hills! This recreation area is only about a mile from our home. That is "as the crow flies!" This day use area opened in 1980. It is over 700 acres. It has over 8 miles of groomed ski trails in the winter, plus a snowshoeing area. There are 3 picnic areas. The "Crown Jewel" is the 60 ft tall observation tower a top one of the highest points in Dunn County. Hoffman Hills is home to abundant wildlife and a prairie restoration project.
The park is open 7am to 9pm daily. There is a gate that is said to close automatically. There is no "user fee" but donations are greatly appreciated as they help to maintain the park. A State Trail Pass is required for skiing. PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED, so leave your fur babies home. Bicycles, horses, and motorized vehicles are not permitted. Lastly, sleds, snowboards, snowshoeing and hiking are not allowed on the groomed ski trails. Hunting is allowed during the gun deer season.
You may also wish to support the park through the "Friends of the Red Cedar Trail and Hoffman Hills " at redcedarhoffman.org
If you are not into "First to Find" you may want to wait a week or two or three, as I have plans for 15-20 more caches out here! Or come out and do the park in segments. I hope you enjoy the caches, and more importantly, this gorgeous facility! ~MrPutz
