Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the posted coordinates. This is the trailhead that will take you past two waypoints with data you will need to solve the final location.

Head to the first waypoint. Here you will see a new grassy area of metal posts sticking up from the ground, with particular metal caps. These indicate the location of buried power lines. Standing at the waypoint, count how many of these posts are visible. If your count is more than a single digit, take the digital root. This is Number A.

Now head to the second waypoint, where you will see a disused and abandoned electrical box with some cable loops. Access here is certainly easier in some seasons than in others. Each cable loop has a metal "dog tag" attached, showing some letters bracketing a number. For Number B, take the digital root of the larger of the two tag numbers. The smaller of the tag numbers is Number C. And look at the conduits rising up from the ground. One of them has come detached from the box. When was this piece of conduit made? Take the digital root of this six-digit clue. This is Number D.

You can now head to the final location, at

N43   42.  (A-B-D)    D    (D-B)

W79   20.  (A+D)    C    2*(C-D)

There are 115,000 volts between the overhead power lines and the ground. In misty weather you can sometimes hear it crackling above. And yet GZ is completely safe. I am very grateful to the engineers who worked out all the safety features for this kind of infrastructure. Magnetism will not help you at a cache like this. But some TOTT may be helpful for the full-fingered trying to remove all the pieces. The log is small, so please write tiny to keep it from filling up too quickly.

To help keep this cache healthy, there are two things you must do when closing it up after signing. First, keep the pieces in the correct order for reassembly (the paper log goes in first). Second, place the entire container black side up (which helps to keep rain out, although it does make it slightly easier to find).
