Situated near Lake Sakakawea, fishing is a big deal in Garrison. Residents and visitors fish for walleye, salmon, and northern pike. The town hosts the annual Governor's Cup Walleye Derby Tournament. Villages of ice houses appear on Lake Sakakawea and Lake Audubon each winter. Garrison even has a giant walleye at the end of Main Street. This cache is meant to highlight part of Garrison's focus on fishing.
