This is a fairly quick 2-stage multi that takes you to the historical point about Hilger Ranch and Sieben Ranch, two of Montana's oldest ranches. Cache is possible to do in winter, but not necessarily suggested.
Stage 1:
There are several large informational placards in close proximity. The posted coordinates are for the first one, with the others listed in order if following the path clockwise. Some placards are not relevant to this multi.
Sieben Ranch and Hilger Hereford Ranch
F = First digit of the year associated with the pictographs found in nearby canyons.
Henry Sieben
E = Second digit of Sieben's age when he arrived in Montana.
D = Third digit in the year Sieben acquired his first land holdings in this area.
Hilger Valley's Namesake
B = Fourth digit in the year Hilger bought the ranch.
A = The difference between the second and third digits in the year Hilger brought his family to Montana.
Many Came, Few Thrived
C = First digit in the day Captain Clark hiked through what became known as Hilger Valley.

Cache is a camouflaged pill bottle; there is pullout parking nearby. Please do not park on the paved road.
