Kelly Pocket Trail
This is a replacement for one of our very first and favorite caches along the Kelly Pocket Trail up and through Kelly Canyon off of FR 237. The trail wanders through, over, and across the wash providing one of our favorite family hiking experiences. You'll see Kaibab limestone, with the canyon floor of sandstone, probably the Coconino formation making for some interesting vistas. Iron concretions create red circles and interesting shapes in the water-worn sandstone along the way along with some fossils if you look closely.
GPS may be slow reacting aka jumpy because of the Canyon walls and trees. There are a lot of muggles that like to explore the area so please be sure to re-hide carefully. The terrain difficulty is because of the cache location --- not the trail.
There is plenty of parking at and near the trail head.
