Most vznikol ešte počas stavby pevnosti v rokoch 1665 až 1669. Postavili ho nad jedným z ramien bohato meandrujúceho Váhu. Spájal tak západnú bránu s pôvodnou osadou, v ktorej sa usadili robotníci z pevnosti.
The bridge was built during the construction of the fortress in the years 1665 to 1669. It was built over one of the arms of the richly meandering river Váh. It connected the western gate with the original settlement, in which the workers from the fortress settled.
Piliere mosta tvoria kvádre z jemného pieskovca a podľa odborníkov sú aj so zreteľom na vek mosta v relatívne dobrom stave. Ich povrch je však zvetraný. Podobný problém sa týka aj ostatných častí – tzv. podperákov a klenieb. Trojklenbový most tvoria tehly, ktoré však postupne nahrádza nová výplň. Reštaurátori predpokladajú, že dnešnú podobu získal most až omnoho neskôr – povrchové časti – nadmurovka s korunnou rímsou, pôvodne zrejme tiež kamennou, sú výsledkom mladších úprav mosta. V minulosti povrch podobných mostov tvorili žulové kocky.
The pillars of the bridge are made of blocks of fine sandstone and according to experts, they are also in relatively good condition with regard to the age of the bridge. However, their surface is weathered. A similar problem applies to other parts - the so-called supports and arches. The three-arched bridge is made of bricks, which are however gradually replaced by a new filling. The restorers assume that the bridge acquired its current form much later - the surface parts - the masonry with a crown cornice, originally probably also a stone one, are the result of younger modifications of the bridge. In the past, the surface of similar bridges was formed by granite cubes.
Svoju funkciu most plnil ešte donedávna – ešte pred šeťdesiatimi rokmi sa pod ním vo vysychajúcom ramene Váhu čľapotali husi a kačice. Svedčí o tom napokon aj pomenovanie lokality, ktoré je motivované tvarom pôvodného ramena a odvodené od latinského slova trulla, čiže panvica. Aj preto sa v mnohých mapách uvádza názov Trulasky (ápropós, latinský pôvod má aj názov susediacej lokality – Paradajs – odvodený na základe pôvodne bujnej vegetácie v okolí Váhu zo slova paradiso – raj).
Until recently, the bridge served its purpose only sixty years ago, geese and ducks were stalking under it in the drying arm of Váh. This is finally evidenced by the name of the site, which is motivated by the shape of the original arm and derived from the Latin word trulla, or pan. This is one of the reasons why the name Trulaska is mentioned in many maps (apropos, Latin origin also has the name of the neighboring locality - Paradajs - derived on the basis of the originally lush vegetation around Váh from the word paradiso - paradise).
