Šis saulės laikrodis pastatytas 2009-aisiais, pažymint Lietuvos vardo paminėjimo tūkstantmetį. Tai vienintelis Tūkstantmečio ženklas Kaune. Mieste daugiau nėra nei vieno kito objekto pavadinto Tūkstantmečio vardu. Iš visų galimų laikrodžių tipų, laiką rodo tik saulės laikrodis. Visi kiti – jį matuoja. Žmogus, pasirinkęs mechanišką laiko skaičiavimą, suskaičiuoja ir suplanuoja visas 24 valandas.
ĮDOMU: jei saulėtą dieną būsite netoli KTU Cheminės technologijos fakulteto, išmėginkite saulės laikrodį: reikia atsistoti ant dienovidinio linijos ties einamuoju mėnesiu nugara į saulę. Šios instrukcijos nurodytos ir ant paties saulės laikrodžio.

Description
This sundial was built in 2009 to mark the millennium of commemoration of the name of Lithuania. This is the only sign of the Millennium in Kaunas. There are no more objects in the city named after the Millennium. Of all the available clock types, only the sundial shows the time. Everyone else measures it. The person who opts for mechanical timing counts and schedules all 24 hours.
INTERESTING: If you are near the KTU Faculty of Chemical Technology on a sunny day, try your sundial: you need to stand on the meridian line at the current month with your back to the sun. These instructions also appear on the sundial itself.

The author of the texts and photos is Vykintas Gervė (gerve.lt), who has created the "Street Art Map" and is a professional tourism guide. Thanks to him for his work, pinpointing of locations and permission to use the info for creation of geocaches. The map has more than 250 points on the map. There may be less points on the trail. Or maybe not;)
