Thomas Earl Petty - October 20, 1950 – October 2, 2017. Born in Gainesville, Florida.
Singer, songwriter, musician, record producer and actor.
Most commonly known as the frontman and one of the founders of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.
He started his music career in a highschool band named The Epics which eventually evolved into Mudcrutch.
Having little success with Mudcrutch, Petty collaborated with other members and formed The Heartbreakers.
Later in his career he also helped form a supergroup known as The Travelling Willburys with George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Bob Dylan and Roy Orbison.
