The property along this stretch of mile road was once home to The Cottonwood Game Farm operated by Nick Janz.
Geodad always has called this the Janz Game Farm and remembers wagon rides through the farm to see the different animals, a lively fish pond and some interesting buildings to see. Most importantly is the memory from the late 1980s of Mr. Janz coming into the school gym that was filled with young children WITH HIS LION on a chain, walking beside him.
He also remembers being able to hear the lion roar from his home a few miles away.
Who would have thought that Grunthal would have ever been home to a lion?
