Jorvig Park was probably the park that the Minneapolis and St. Louis Railroad gave to the Village in exchange for naming the Village St. Louis Park, if that story is true.
This park includes the Historic Milwaukee Road Depot. Built in 1887, the Depot of the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad (a/k/a Milwaukee Road) was originally located just south of the tracks, at 36th Street and Alabama Avenue.
When the railroad discontinued use of Depot in 1968 it threatened to tear the building down. A “Save the Depot” committee got the building on the National Register of Historic Places on November 25, 1969. The Milwaukee Road donated the building to the City, and the depot moved to Jorvig Park in August 1970.

NOTE: This cache is close to the depot building area in the park and nowhere near the tracks.

EPAC = Every Park A Cache!
I love little neighborhood parks, and even small parks deserve a geocache!
