On a recent training jaunt along the Hatea River track from the Whngarei Falls down to the A H Reed carpark and on toward town, I came across a stray buffalo. Luckily, I managed to chase him down the old original dirt side track that follows the river, and then rush around to the other end, where it rejoins the new gravel track.
There I was able to ambush the buffalo, get a noose on him, hobble him with some flood carried driftwood and tether him to your coleslaw dinner. Please be careful not to set him free again.
