Geocache Description:

This series of caches was designed for the Rotary Club of LaBelle. I know through caching that I have discovered many places I never would have otherwise known existed and what other way to have people explore parks and other various locations around the town.

The caches for this series will range from bison to small-ish and will not be the same container at each location, so unlike other series caches that use the same container, we have tried to switch it up! We want the cachers to enjoy their surroundings while on the hunt.

This area has 3 LaBelle Landmarks. The Barron Library, the Wharf and the first Experimental Rotary Steam Engine.

The Barron Library is a fully functional andnpart of the Hendry Country Library system.  Stop in and check out the latest hot titles.

The LaBelle City Warf is a welcoming area for boaters to dock and stay for a maximum 3 days to explore our little bustling town.

Also located here is an Experimental Rotary Steam Engine.   Designed and built in 1938 by inventor Edward Christopher Warren, former associate of famed inventor Nicola Tesla, to install in a 114 foot shuttle yacht “Navette,” originally commissioned by financier J. Pierpont “Jack” Morgan and built by Herreshoff Yard, Bristol, Rhode Island in 1917. “Navette” was built for “Jack” Morgan’s daily commute from Long Island to Wall Street.  Visit the LaBelle Heritage Museum to find out more.
