We are currently living in White Mountain Alaska. Mal is teaching at the school. The village is small and remote. There are currently are no caches in the area, the closest one is in Golovin, 17 miles away accessable by airplane, boat or snowmobile. Mal did a "treasure hunt" GPS activitiy with the K-2 grade class and they loved it. We thought it was time to place a cache in the area. We received permission from the Igatuinmiut Tribal Center to place caches in the area. It is located close to our residence. It will be interesting to see how long this cache takes to get a FTF. The one in Golovin was placed in 2014 and has had a whopping 2 finds. (Now we have a snowombile, we'll have to make it three next winter.) Maybe we can get some locals interested in the game. It's close to the school, so there's plenty of parking for your four wheeler or snow machine. It is located in a tree, depending on the snow fall, it may not be accessible year round. We have placed a trackable in the cache.
This cache hasn't been found, but It was muggled. One of our students made a replacement and placed it on 5-18-2023. FTF is still avaiable. Hopefully someone that lives is White Mountain will find it.
