Enjoy a walk around Loch Barnluasgan, one of the original homes of the hugely Scottish Beaver Trial in Argyll. But venture a little further on the hill path (green marked route) through the Atlantic Oakwoods to a viewpoint offering stunning views of Loch Barnluasgan, Loch Coille Bharr and Loch Linne. Within a stone's throw of the bench seat at the viewpoint, this cache lies in plain sight when viewed from the correct angle.
This area has been felled of commercial Sitka Spruce and is in the process of being replanted with a range of native broadleaves to further increase the biodiversity of the area which has been massively boosted by the reintroduction of beavers to the Knapdale Forest.
It is well worth a visit to the nearby Beaver Visitor Centre to find out all about these amazing animals and the positive changes they are making to the area.
Plenty of other wildlife can regularly be seen in this special place including red squirrels, eagles, ospreay and a variety of dragonflies.
