Grab your friends and family, get outside, and go exploring! 50 new adventures await all across the beautiful state of Michigan. This one is known as Adventure 33. Each new adventure takes you to a new location surrounded by natural beauty and outdoor activities.
Adventure 33:
Located in Boyne City, MI Young State Park has more than 560 acres to roam. Young State Park is situated on the eastern shore of beautiful Lake Charlevoix, just outside Boyne City. The park spans 563 acres and is a mix of gently rolling terrain, lowlands and cedar swamp. There are three modern campgrounds, overnight lodging facilities, a boat launch, a popular swimming beach, a picnic area, 6.5 miles of trails and more.
The park was established in 1921, and the day-use building was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s.
From the park, visitors can access the Boyne City to Charlevoix Trail, this soon-to-be-completed, nonmotorized 14-mile trail links the city of Charlevoix with the cities of Petoskey and Harbor Springs.
This park is open year round and does require an admission fee or recreation passport (available through the MI DNR).
