This is one of the old-style picnic areas that dot our less-than-major highways throughout the state of Texas. They are quietly being abandoned, and their upkeep seems to be somewhat haphazard.
If you look at the area behind this set of picnic tables, you will see an old bridge to the far right, which is little more than a grassed over roadway over a low concrete bridge with a culvert running through it.
If you use your imagination, you can see the old roadway, which now exists only as a grassy area in the area where the road used to run. Who knows how many decades ago the road ran through here? Even better yet, if you look at a satellite view of the area, you can see where the old roadway runs in a straight line into the town of Rosebud.
At the far left of the area is a venerable old tree with a fork amongst multiple branches, and in that fork, you will espy the treasured cache. There is room in the container for small trinkets and, as with most caches of this type, BYOP.
