都道府県魅力度ランキング2020最下位の栃木県ですが、ジオキャッシングではとても魅力的な県です。旧栃木県と宇都宮県が合併し栃木県が誕生した6月15日を記念して、2021年の県民の日に栃木にゆかりのあるジオキャッシャーが募りキャッシュを公開しました。

The 15th June is Tochigi Citizens’ Day. Tochigi Prefecture was established on June 15, 1873 with the merger of Tochigi Prefecture and Utsunomiya Prefecture. Celebrating this day, Geocachers loved Tochigi have published caches.

The stone monument enshrined at Kasaishi Shrine is one of the three oldest monuments in Japan and is designated as a national treasure.
It was erected in 700 by his son Ishimaro and others to honor the legacy of Nasunoataiide, who was appointed to the position of governor in 689.
It had been buried in the grass for a long time, but was discovered in 1676 by the monk Enjun and the headman Oogane Shigesada. Upon receiving the news, Tokugawa Mitsukuni, the feudal lord, ordered the construction of Kasaishi Shrine and the protection of the monument. Tokugawa Mitsukuni also ordered his retainer Sassa Munekiyo to excavate the Kami-Samuraisuka and Shimo-Samuraisuka burial mounds, which were presumed to be the tombs of the father and son of Nasunoataiide and Ishimaro mentioned in the inscription, and to develop the historical sites.
However, the Kami-Samuraisuka and Shimo-Samuraisuka burial mounds are estimated to have been built in the 5th century and have nothing to do with the father and son. You can ask the shrine office to see the monument and get more informations.
笠石神社の神体として祀られている石碑は日本三古碑の一つで国宝に指定されています。
689年に評督という役職に任ぜられた那須直韋提（なすのあたいいで）の遺徳をたたえるために息子の意志麻呂らが700年建立したものです。 長らく草むらの中に埋没していましたが，1676年に僧円順，庄屋大金重貞らによって発見されました。その報せを受けた領主である徳川光圀は笠石神社を創建し碑の保護を命じました。さらに碑文に記された那須直葦提、意志麻呂父子の墓と推定した上侍塚古墳と下侍塚古墳の発掘調査と史跡整備を家臣の佐々宗淳に命じています。
しかしながら上侍塚古墳と下侍塚古墳はいずれも5世紀の築造と推定され父子とは関係がないものと考えられます。
