Der kleine Wald am Wetteramt in Essen Schuir eignet sich wunderbar für einen kurzen Ausflug mit kleineren Kindern. Bei uns wird das meist ein längerer Ausflug, da wir immer wieder am Aseybach oder im Wald Station machen, zum Spielen, Entdecken oder Floß treiben lassen. Der Wald sieht auf der Karte nicht besonders groß aus und ist doch mit einem Netz an Waldwegen ein schöner Ort für einen Ausflug mit Kindern.
Der Cache ist einfach zu finden - daher ist hier eher der Weg das Ziel...
Man kann schön eine kleine Runde machen, wir gehen immer vom Parkplatz etwa 800m die Wallneyer "Straße" runter über die Felder, bis links ein geteerter Weg runter geht in Richtung Bredeney. Dann nach dem Feld links rein. Vom Cache zurück dann einfach über den Waldweg oder den Weg am Feldrand nehmen. Nach langem Regen ist der Waldweg teilweise matschig. Vom Ende der Runde sind es dann noch 75m über die Straße zurück zum Parkplatz.
Der Cache hat seinen Namen von einem Ausflug im Frühling, wo wir direkt am Bach unzählige große weiße Weinbergschnecken gefunden haben. Wenn ihr Pech habt, dann sind die jetzt schon weg - waren ziemlich schnell :-)
Beim Versteck befindet sich eine große Lichtung bis zum Bach hinunter. Hier kann man sich wunderbar einige Zeit aufhalten - Picknicksachen nicht vergessen!

The small forest at the weather office (Wetteramt) in Essen Schuir is ideal for a short excursion with young children. With us it is usually a longer excursion, as we always stop at the Aseybach or in the forest, to play, discover or let a raft drift. The forest doesn't look particularly big on the map and yet with a network of forest trails it is a nice place for a trip with children.
The cache is easy to find - so the way is more the goal here...
You can do a nice little round, we always walk 800m from the parking lot down the Wallneyer "Straße" across the fields until a paved path goes down to the left towards Bredeney. Then turn left after the field. From the cache back then simply take the forest path or the path on the edge of the field. After a long rain, the forest path is partly muddy. From the end of the lap it's still 75m across the street back to the parking lot.
The cache takes its name from an excursion in spring, where we found countless large white garden snails right by the stream. If you are unlucky, then they are already gone - were pretty quick :-)
At the hiding place there is a large clearing down to the stream. You can spend some time here - don't forget your picnic items!
