Geocache Description:

This geocache is located near where Zane Grey and his associates, including the old buffalo hunter, Buffalo Jones, camped in 1907 while lassoing cougars for zoos and circuses.  Their hopes were to fund a project to crossbreed bison with cattle to preserve the bison bloodline.  Descendants from this effort still populate the national forest and Grand Canyon National Park.  They camped at this location after travelling all day in freezing rain and was the site of a camp accident that threatened Grey's life.  The geocache is on National Forest land and authorized by the Kaibab National Forest.  The geocache is in a clear "ammo" box and offers a tiny toy for children and a unique, specially designed token for adult collectors.  Access may be limited between December 1 and May 15 due to winter conditions when roads may not be maintained though access by snowmobile is possible.  If you visit the cache during winter, please bring a snow shovel.
