Geocache Description:

01 July 2021, 18:00 - 18:30

First, the usual notice.  Please practice proper and required Covid 19 protective measures, including masks and social distancing as appropriate or required by any indoor location or large activity.  Let's all cache safely so we can all enjoy it more!  And now, on to the event!

Yes, my friends, it's time to celebrate CANADA DAY 2021!

And that means food and geochat and finding something a true Canadian would do.  And as Jericho has told me, there is nothing more Canadian that Curling.  Well, maybe hockey, poutine and Tim Horton's, but let's start where we can.

But Mr Matrix, why would we meet at a Sonic drive-in parking lot to celebrate Canada or discuss curling?  I'll explain.

We'll meet at 6pm here at the land of fast hotdogs and shakes, then at 6:30, as the event winds down, anyone that wants to join me can take a tour of the very VERY nearby Windy City Curling club in the mall.  No bonus find for walking over, and probably no on ice time either, just a way to see the facility and talk cruling and wear maple leafs.

I hope most that attend will join me in the tour but curling might not be for everyone. And if someone wants to hang at Sonic with the logbook while the rest of us tour I can dig that too.  Not that it's a requirement, but if you plan to tour please let me know when you sign up so I can give them a rough head count.

And after, we'll go home knowing we've seen the ice where the roar happens.

And yes, I'm really REALLY into curling.  And I have played, but I'm not very good with these old knees.  But once you've tried it, it will get you.  Kinda like caching!

Hope to see you then!
