This Astico Dodge County Park trail series follows the Crawfish River on the north side of the park. Use the Main Entrance to the park on County TT for the closest parking and access to this trail. The park is open to day visitors from 7am to 8:30pm. Pets are allowed on leash. Bikes are allowed on park roads only, not on trails. You do not have to stop at the park office, but that is where you can pick up a park and trail map. There is also a Little Free Library. This may be important: flush toilets are located just east of the office.
Convenient parking is near the little brown utility shed with water fountain attached on the side. There is additional parking nearby throughout the park, at the shelter, or you could park near "the point" and walk the trail from east to west instead of from the trailhead.
The cache is especially geared towards the young and young-at-heart. It is child friendly and at child-discovery level. Bring the kids to enjoy this gentle walking trail in search of hidden treasure.
