Geocache Description:

This is the 4th cache placement and the "end point" of the Astico Adventure Trail series.  Wish there could be more, but hey, spacing is limited.

The park:  Use the main entrance from Hwy TT.  Park is open from 7am to 8:30pm.  Yes, you can bring your pets, on a leash.  Bike on park roads only.  There are several walking trails on both the east and west sides of the river, and they are relatively easy and short distances.  You can also kayak or canoe to the point, there are several landing places.

The trail map shows parking, you can park at the point and walk the entire trail from east to west instead of starting at the west trailhead.  The closest to the trail is on the gravel drive next to the artesian well.  Or you can park at the point restrooms.

The cache:  Old Pointy Hat lives here on "the point" in peace and harmony with nature.  Maybe the pointy hat scares the 'skee-toes away too.  If the gnome's not home, he is most likely gone fishing, but he always leaves his front door open, so help yourself to the cache.   The Gnome Home is large and close to the river, but safe for kids to find.  If you have a "gnome sighting" please report in your log.

The Geocache Notification Form has been submitted to Dodge County Parks, B. Ehlenbeck.
