Geocache Description:

This is the third Geocache placed by Ray and Maya (Nomads). It was placed on Sunday 20th May with the help of friends Darryn, Mike and Betty. The location of the cache was selected by Darryn and he researched the early history of the area. The cache is located on the edge of a pine plantation at the site of an early homestead, now a picnic and BBQ area. You can still see some of the English trees that were once around the house, and the remains of an old shed. The original settlers were there in the 1930's but the house has been gone since the early 1970's. Nearby there was what was called the "Bulk Camp" where prisoners of war were held. These prisoners were used to cut the timber on the surrounding property for firewood and telegraph poles. The cache is burried in a white bucket amongst bracken ferns with the lid completely covered by fern fronds and other branches. We hope you enjoy the location and the challenge of finding the cache. Please take time to absorb the history of the area and enjoy some of the many walks available. You might consider taking some Yabbie lines as there is a suitable watering hole nearby. Safe and happy hunting. Ray and MayaThis is the third Geocache placed by Ray and Maya (Nomads). It was placed on Sunday 20th May with the help of friends Darryn, Mike and Betty.
