Not a poker player? “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” (click). The Rules are as simple as 1, 2, 3, 4:

(1) Ante Up

When you register & sign in you will need to drop an unactivated TB or geocoin in the ammo can as your “buy in” to the game (TBs will be available to purchase on-site for $8.00 if you need one)

You are more than welcome to attend the Event and participate in the "Poker Run" without dropping off/entering a TB -- you will just not be eligible for the prize-draws.

[If you are a regular "2-person geocacher" (e.g., TeamBikeFast or 7TNT), you can register as one and gather one poker hand, or each member of the "team" can register and get their own poker hand]

(2) Get the Coords

You will be given a set of 5 coordinates for 5 ammo cans placed in the area. They consist of a Traditional, Multi, Wherigo, Puzzle/Mystery & Letterbox-Hybrid.

The 5 cache venues can be done in any order.

(3) Pick the Cards

At each of the 5 caches, collect ONE envelope — Do NOT open the envelope!

(4) Reveal the Hand

Return the 5 UNOPENED envelopes to the event host who will record your poker hand. [Jokers are fully wild but colour restricted]

PRIZES:

1. Winning poker hand receives all the unactivated TBs & geocoins.

2. Runner-up poker hand receives a fully-loaded ammo can cache ready for placement. [In the event of a tie, an ammo can "toss off" will decide the winners]

3. Tickets will be given out and a random draw will be made for FTF honours & additional prizes.

NOTE (1):

This is NOT a poker RACE! There is no incentive for trying to be first on site at the various cache venues — it will give you NO advantage for prizes or FTFs. Have fun and enjoy the hunt.

All teams MUST be back to the gazebo no later than 3:00 p.m. to qualify for prizes.

NOTE (2):

Not all cache placements will necessarily be straightforward. They may require such twists as projections or off-sets, a special TOTT (Tool Of The Trade), etc. The 5 cache venues include a traditional, multi, puzzle, letterbox-hybrid and reverse wherigo -- teamwork may be required. Cache containers are ammo cans but "intermediaries" can be any size or style; be observant!

NOTE (3):

This year we will be adding a "Photo-op Scavenger Hunt" to highlight all things "Island(er)". You'll be given a list of 30+ items/"photo-ops" to try and get photos of, earning points for your team. The team with the most points & creative photos will win a prize.
