This geocache is located in Backbone State Park which is south of Strawberry Point, Iowa. There are lots of trails and scenic views. Camping and cabins are available as well as fishing in the lake and trout stream. Trails are well-marked, but this one will take you off trail a bit. The cache can be reached by hiking the West Lake Trail, starting either from the South Lake Campground or the 6 Pines Campground. However, if water levels are high, access from 6 Pines may not be possible.
