Grove Park (the park) sits at the entrance to Grove Park (the neighborhood). The land was purchased in 2001, year of the "New Pearl Harbor" 9/11. It features a flag pole commemorating those who fought after the original Pearl Harbor, in WWII. According to the Homeowners Association, the flag's plaque honors a rotating series of local veterans, currently one who served in France after D-Day.
Besides honoring the protection of our country, the park also protects our environment. With the adjacent Timocuan Parks Foundation land, it maintains wetlands along Pottsburgh Creek in their valuable undeveloped natural state.
The cache is a camouflaged water bottle in a tree about ten feet into the forest, as you head toward the marsh. Vehicals can pull off road onto the grass, or there is parking across the street behind the daycare center. Cache in, trash out if you can!
