STEVENSON TRACT - A River Runs Through It
Explore a piece of Ontario’s reforestation legacy on the beautiful mixed forest trails of the 200 acre Stevenson Tract. Purchased by the County in 1951, this property was part of a province-wide effort to reforest fragile lands for the improvement of water quality, reduction of flooding and conservation of soil. Bi-sected by the Middle Maitland River and the Sunshine Creek, the Stevenson Tract features prime fish habitat, scenic canoeing, and some of the best hiking trails in the middle of the county. In the winter months, most of the trail branches seem to be groomed. The ridge Trail where I have placed 4, is not groomed, but sees a lot of traffic to keep it packed down.
I have placed several on both sides of the river. You cannot wade across the river without Biblical assistance.
Should be an easy grab. Mosquitos are ferocious in the damp summer.
Watch for poison ivy. BYOP. Please put the lid back on tight.
CONGRATULATIONS StarBirds on FTF. I appreciate your courtesy of logging FTF ASAP after finding.
