LA VILLA
Villa Guastalla Nuova, edificata nella prima metà del XV secolo, fu abitata dalla famiglia Spolverini, stirpe che aveva notevoli interessi; successivamente divenne proprietà della famiglia Muselli ed infine della famiglia Giusti del Giardino. Oggi la villa è proprietà della famigia Dal Santo.
Un tempo la villa era il fulcro di varie attività con i suoi magazzini e i laboratori, con un fondo di 150 campi coltivati a grano, miglio, uva e con gli indispensabili gelsi e gli spazi per la coltura del baco e la produzione della seta.
Nelle giornate del Risorgimento la villa ospitò il Re Vittorio Emanuele II.
Fu restaurata dai proprietari, dopo i periodi bellici, specialmente dopo le occupazioni militari della seconda guerra mondiale, e conserva tutto il fascino razionale; l’ampia loggia che sovrasta la duplice nobile scala d’accesso è affascinante e leggiadra allo stesso tempo. Si presenta strana, con una tozza e squadrata apertura centrale che si allarga ai lati, con tre archetti ben proporzionati. Nella parte superiore mostra un elegante timpano, con uno stemma importante e volutamente in evidenza per ostentare il valore del casato.
La corte si circonda, su tutti i lati, di edifici di servizio, rustici, stalle, case contadine, in gran parte coperte dal gradevole verde dei rampicanti e dai massicci torrioni, che potrebbero essere stati utilizzati sia da osservatori militari che come colombare.
L’edificio centrale, all’estremità occidentale, confina con un giardino pensile mentre ad oriente comprende la cappellina barocca, dedicata a Santa Maria, che conserva le lapidi tombali della famiglia Spolverini - Dal Verme. L’interno della villa conserva pavimenti in cotto e travi a giorno nei soffitti, eccetto che in quelli centrali che hanno copertura a volta.
LA GHIACCIAIA
Come si usava un tempo, quando le moderne tecniche di conservazione non erano disponibili, la villa è munita di una giassàra, sommersa da una collinetta di terra alberata e guardata a vista da un capitello circolare, con sei colonne che reggono un tetto cuspidato, eretto in onore di Sant’Antonio abate, il protettore di bestie e cristiani di campagna.

THE MANSION
Villa Guastalla Nuova, built in the first half of the 15th century, was inhabited by the Spolverini family, a lineage that had considerable interests; later it became the property of the Muselli family and finally of the Giusti del Giardino family. Today the villa is owned by the Dal Santo family.
Once the villa was the fulcrum of various activities with its warehouses and laboratories, with a fund of 150 fields cultivated with wheat, millet, grapes and with the indispensable mulberry trees and spaces for the cultivation of the worm and the production of silk .
In the days of the Risorgimento the villa hosted the King Vittorio Emanuele II.
It was restored by the owners, after the war periods, especially after the military occupations of the Second World War, and retains all the rational charm; the large loggia overlooking the double noble staircase of access is charming and graceful at the same time. It looks strange, with a squat and squared central opening that widens at the sides, with three well-proportioned arches. In the upper part it shows an elegant tympanum, with an important and deliberately highlighted coat of arms to flaunt the value of the family.
The courtyard is surrounded, on all sides, by service buildings, cottages, stables, peasant houses, mostly covered by the pleasant green of the vines and by the massive towers, which could have been used both by military observers and as dovecotes.
The central building, at the western end, borders a hanging garden while to the east it includes the baroque chapel, dedicated to Santa Maria, which preserves the tombstones of the Spolverini - Dal Verme family. The interior of the villa retains terracotta floors and exposed beams in the ceilings, except in the central ones which have a vaulted roof.
THE GLACIER
As was the custom in the past, when modern conservation techniques were not available, the villa is equipped with a "giassàra", submerged by a mound of wooded land and watched by a circular capital, with six columns supporting a cuspidated roof. , erected in honor of Sant'Antonio abate, the protector of beasts and Christians of the countryside.
