You will take a walk around Santee Lakes to find this cache.
There is a nice cement path almost the entire way so it is a fairly easy walk of about .5 mile one way. Pets or skateboards aren't allowed according to the sign, sorry Gromit, we wanted you to visit Clifford.
Take Fanita Parkway to Lake Canyon and park on Lake Canyon. There is a pedestrian gate here to enter the park and there is no charge. If you prefer to drive in, you must pay the day use fee at the main entrance gate. If you come after 3:00 on Oct. 26, you will have to pay a fee even to walk in because it's Santee Frenzy Days.
The cache is a clear tupperware container with a blue lid. In it you will find: TWO Travel Bugs: Extreme Dude 1 and Splashman's new CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG!! Please help them on their way. Other items: new can cozy, bundle of blue wire ties, measuring tapes, pick-up stix, crayon eraser and Cheetos playing cards. That is all that would fit!
Enjoy your walk around the lakes, we saw five turtles floating on a small log, as well as many ducks, cranes and geese.
