Geocache Description:

If North Vancouver were an apartment building, then Lonsdale Avenue would be the main elevator, and reaching this point would mean you've arrived at the penthouse suite. So welcome to the top of the heap, the commanding heights, the pinnacle, the... well, you get the idea.

According to Wikipedia, the street was named after  Arthur Pemberton Heywood-Lonsdale, whose life story reads like a list of North Vancouver place names.

Lonsdale Avenue is the central axis of North Vancouver, the boundary that divides east from west all the way up to here. The lower portions just go straight up from the harbour, but as it reaches 11th (or 8th, depending which side street you wish to count), it bends to run in an exact north-south line - right up to this point. The top of Lonsdale is officially considered 259 metres / 850 feet above sea level.

Lonsdale is arguably North Vancouver's most important commercial artery, historically and in the current era, the business core of the North Shore. Way up here, though, it is strictly residential; if you want shops, the nearest ones are 6 or 7 blocks downhill.

One's position on this street also is - or used to be – a local indicator of social class. Basically, the higher up you lived, the richer you were. No doubt that subject is a university paper just waiting to be written. Understandable, though, since the city views from some of the houses up here are amazing.

There are actually more roads above Lonsdale, of course, going way up to the mountain wilderness, but in terms of Lonsdale, this is as far up the hill as it goes. There are a couple of bus routes that terminate up here, and quick vehicle access routes towards the top of Delbrook and the upper reaches of Lynn Valley. So, it is certainly not inaccessible.  A good place for an easy cache; iconic, yet low-key. (After all, why should Lonsdale Quay get all the glory?)

The cache itself is a small (effectively micro) preform tube, with room only for a log sheet and pencil (so please, don't add swag). Not hard to find at all, using the hint. However, you should know it is not on private property, so do not go exploring up anyone's driveway by mistake.

First-To-Find earned by Balaraka, who gained the small FTF prize, a "Making Tracks" zipper pull.
