This geocache is located in Whitewater State Park, part of Minnesota's State Parks system located near the city of Altura in Winona County, MN. A Minnesota State Parks vehicle sticker is required to park your vehicle. The sticker costs $7 for a daily pass or $35 for a yearly pass.

This geocache will take you to a scenic overlook known as Inspiration Point. Whitewater State Park has many overlooks, but Inspiration Point is unique in that it is the only one where you cannot see any signs of civilization. As you look around you'll see a completely undisturbed view of the Whitewater Valley, as if you traveled back in time to witness this area before European settlement.
The trail to Inspiration Point starts off easy, but the latter half can be strenuous (I counted 286 stairs). There are numerous spots on the trail where you are walking on nothing but packed dirt on the side of a bluff. Please use caution and/or good judgment if there has been recent rain as that can lead to washouts.

Near GZ you will come across a rope that separates the trail from ongoing forest restoration. You do NOT need to cross the rope to find/retrieve the cache. Do not step over any barriers - I and the staff of Whitewater thank you.
This cache is a small peanut butter jar, on the lower end of "small" geocaches. Please do NOT intentionally damage the beacon - the cache can easily be retrieved without damaging the beacon in any way.
Please ensure the cache is replaced in a firm position so it does not become exposed or fall out of the beacon.
