Katastrom mesta Hurbanovo pretekajú dve rieky. Na západe je to rieka Stará Žitava, ktorej oblasť je chráneným územím so zachovanými brehovými porastmi a lužným lesom. V Starej Žitave tiež dostáva druhú šancu vyčistená odpadová voda z miestneho pivovaru.
Two rivers flow through the cadastre of the town of Hurbanovo. To the west is the river Stará Žitava, whose area is a protected area with preserved riparian vegetation and floodplain forest. In Stará Žitava, the treated wastewater from the local brewery also gets a second chance.
