Il toponimo Gardetta deriva dal provenzale gardo, gardètto, che indica “luoghi elevati che permettono l’osservazione e la sorveglianza sui territori circostanti” Dall’ampio valico (mt. 2437) si gode un notevole panorama: verso nord-ovest si ammirano le aspre vette rocciose del gruppo dell’Oronaye, fasciate alla base da enormi colate detritiche, mentre verso oriente la vista spazia sull’ondulato Altopiano della Gardetta, oltre il quale si innalza isolata l’elegantissima Rocca la Meja.

The toponym Gardetta derives from the Provençal gardo, gardètto, which indicates "elevated places that allow observation and surveillance of the surrounding areas". From the wide pass (2437 m) you can enjoy a remarkable panorama: towards the north-west you can admire the rugged rocky peaks of the Oronaye group, surrounded at the base by enormous debris flows, while towards the east the view sweeps over the undulating Plateau of the Gardetta, beyond which the elegant Rocca la Meja rises isolated.
The cache is hidden not far from the hill, away from prying eyes.

Der Ortsname Gardetta leitet sich vom provenzalischen gardo, gardètto, ab, was "erhöhte Orte, die die Beobachtung und Überwachung der Umgebung ermöglichen" bezeichnet. Vom breiten Pass (2437 m) genießt man ein bemerkenswertes Panorama: Nach Nordwesten kann man die schroffen Felsgipfel der Oronaye-Gruppe bewundern, die am Fuße von gewaltigen Murgängen umgeben sind, während nach Osten der Blick über die hügeliges Plateau der Gardetta, hinter dem sich isoliert die elegante Rocca la Meja erhebt.
Der Cache ist unweit des Hügels versteckt, vor neugierigen Blicken.

Le toponyme Gardetta dérive du gardo provençal, gardètto, qui désigne « des lieux élevés qui permettent l'observation et la surveillance des abords ». Du large col (2437 m) on jouit d'un panorama remarquable : vers le nord-ouest on peut admirer les pitons rocheux escarpés du groupe d'Oronaye, entourés à la base d'énormes coulées de débris, tandis qu'à l'est la vue s'étend sur le Plateau vallonné de la Gardetta, au-delà duquel s'élève l'élégante Rocca la Meja isolée.
La cache est cachée non loin de la colline, à l'abri des regards indiscrets.
