Cmentarz Komunalny Północny – otwarty w 1973 cmentarz grzebalny dla Warszawy, o powierzchni 143 ha. Jest to jeden z największych cmentarzy w Europie.
Warszawa posiada wiele cmentarzy, ale w pewnym momencie ilość chętnych do wiecznego spoczynku przekroczyła ilość wolnych miejsc i trzeba było coś z tym zrobić. Na polach dawnych wsi Placówka i Wólka Węglowa wydzielono teren pod przyszły cmentarz, którego projekt nadzorował architekt krajobrazu prof. Longin Majdecki. Teren cmentarza przeciął m.in. ulicę Palisadową i podzielił ją na 2 niezależne odcinki.
Posadzono tu kilkadziesiąt tysięcy drzew i krzewów ozdobnych, wybudowano: ponad 200 km dróg i alejek, dom pogrzebowy z 3 salami ceremonialnymi (m.in. dla zmarłych wyznania katolickiego i świeckich) oraz przechowalnią zwłok, spopielarnię, kancelarię, pawilony przy wejściach, kwiaciarnię, parkingi i drogi dojazdowe. Na cmentarz prowadzą wejścia: północne, południowe, zachodnie i wschodnie – główne.
Przy wejściu głównym obok budynków administracji znajduje się kościół parafialny św. Ignacego Loyoli na Placówce, w którym odbywają się uroczystości pogrzebowe osób wyznania rzymskokatolickiego.
Na cmentarzu pochowane jest wiele bardziej i mniej znanych osób, ale nie o tym jest ten kesz.

Northern Communal Cemetery - opened in 1973, a burial cemetery for Warsaw, with an area of 143 ha. It is one of the largest cemeteries in Europe.
Warsaw has many cemeteries, but at one point the number of people willing to rest for eternity exceeded the number of vacancies and something had to be done about it. On the fields of the former villages of Placówka and Wólka Węglowa, an area was designated for the future cemetery, the project of which was supervised by a landscape architect, prof. Longin Majdecki. The cemetery area was crossed by, among others Palisadowa street and divided it into 2 independent sections.
Tens of thousands of trees and ornamental shrubs have been planted here, over 200 km of roads and alleys have been built, a funeral home with 3 ceremonial rooms (including for the deceased Catholic and lay people) and a body storage room, an incinerator, an office, pavilions at the entrances, a flower shop, parking lots and access roads. The main entrances lead to the cemetery from east, other are on the north, south, and west sides.
At the main entrance, next to the administration buildings, there is the parish church of St. Ignacy Loyola, where funeral ceremonies for people of the Roman Catholic faith take place.
Many more and less known people are buried in the cemetery, but this is not what this cache is about.
