NADIN is a small village in the County of Zadar in the region of Ravni Kotari. It's located 2 km south of the road and the railway line which from Zadar via Benkovac leads to Knin.
HISTORY
Nadin is already mentioned in the Liburnian and Roman times as an Illyrian settlement, the city of Nedinum which spreads so on 4 km of spacious fields. It was probably founded during the first century A.D and has been preserved until today. You can see the remains of its city walls, built from large blocks of stone to the height of 7 meters, as well as the monument consecrated to the goddess Latra, who was especially worshiped in Nadin by the Liburnian tribe.
The ancient city of Nadin has not yet been fully investigated and the archeological work has not been done systematically but more or less at random. In the Archeological Museum of Zadar are kept some inscriptions and some have been inserted within the walls of some houses below Nadinska Gradina. The importance of Nadin can also be witnessed by the long struggle led by Venetians and Turks for having the control on the “key district of Ravni Kotari”. In the recent history, after the war of 1995th, which had been finished off by the famous war action "storm", began the process of planning the reconstruction of the villages which had been completely destroyed, as well as the restoration of the church of st. Ante.
"The church of Nadin will keep bringing up faith in humanity, as it always has, and the people of Nadin will return to their rebuilt homes and love each other," this was stated in January 12th 1997th by the Archbishop of Zadar msgr.Ivan Prenđa. For the occasion, the resident Sime Odzakovic made to the church the gift of a new altar and an ambon and the Municipality of Medulin a new roof construction for the church.
Since 2004 there is also an oil mill. Located in an ideal climatic area with lots of moisture and sun, it is ideal for Mediterranean crops such as wine and olives. It is precisely these cultures that are cultivated there, which, in addition to wine and olive production, open up the possibility of rural tourism. Nadin is a place where the population has always been engaged in agriculture, but the war sufferings of the Homeland War interrupted its development. Despite the damage suffered, the residents of Nadin lived independently in the village after the war or came on weekends, planted or restored planted seedlings of vines and olives. Guided by the idea of promoting the village, this oil mill was opened. There, high-quality virgin olive oil is now produced from their own olive groves.

PRIČA
Nadin se već spominje kao ilirsko naselje u liburnijsko i rimsko doba, grad Nedinum, koji se prostire na 4 km prostranih polja. Vjerojatno je osnovan u prvom stoljeću poslije Krista i sačuvan je do danas. Ostaci gradskog zida, koji je izgrađen od velikih kamenih blokova do visine do 7 metara, kao i spomenik posvećen božici Latri, koju je u Nadinu posebno častilo liburnsko pleme, još se mogu vidjeti.
Drevni grad Nadin još nije u potpunosti istražen i arheološki radovi nisu izvedeni sustavno, već više ili manje proizvoljno. U Zadarskom arheološkom muzeju neki se natpisi čuvaju, a neki su umetnuti u zidove nekih kuća ispod Nadinske Gradine. O važnosti Nadina svjedoči i duga borba Mlečana i Turaka za kontrolu nad "ključnim okrugom Ravni Kotari". U novijoj povijesti, nakon rata 1995. godine, koji je okončan čuvenom ratnom akcijom "Sturm", započelo se planiranje obnove potpuno razorenih sela i obnove crkve po NS. Ante.

U selu je od 2004. postojala i uljara. Smješten u idealnom klimatskom području s puno vlage i sunca, idealan je za mediteranske kulture poput vina i maslina. Tamo se uzgajaju upravo te kulture koje osim proizvodnje vina i maslina otvaraju mogućnost seoskog turizma. Nadin je mjesto gdje se stanovništvo oduvijek bavilo poljoprivredom, ali su ratna stradanja iz Domovinskog rata prekinula njegov razvoj. Unatoč pretrpljenoj šteti, mještani Nadina nakon rata su živjeli samostalno u selu ili su dolazili vikendom, sadili ili obnavljali posađene sadnice vinove loze i masline. Vođeni idejom promicanja sela, otvorena je ova uljara. Tamo se iz vlastitih maslinika sada proizvodi visokokvalitetno djevičansko maslinovo ulje.

Die Bedeutung von Nadin wird auch durch den langen Kampf der Venezianer und Türken um die Kontrolle über den „Schlüsselbezirk Ravni Kotari“ bezeugt. In der jüngeren Geschichte, nach dem Krieg von 1995, der durch die berühmte Kriegsaktion "Sturm" beendet wurde, begannen die Planungen für den Wiederaufbau der vollständig zerstörten Dörfer sowie die Restaurierung der Kirche von NS. Seit 2004 gibt es in dem Dorf auch eine Ölmühle. In einem idealen Klimagebiet mit viel Feuchtigkeit und Sonne gelegen, ist es ideal für mediterrane Kulturen wie Wein und Oliven. Genau diese Kulturen werden dort kultiviert, die neben der Wein- und Olivenproduktion die Möglichkeit des ländlichen Tourismus eröffnen. Nadin ist ein Ort, an dem die Bevölkerung seit jeher in der Landwirtschaft tätig war, aber die Kriegsleiden des Heimatkrieges unterbrachen seine Entwicklung. Trotz der erlittenen Schäden lebten die Bewohner von Nadin nach dem Krieg selbstständig im Dorf oder kamen an Wochenenden, pflanzten oder restaurierten gepflanzte Setzlinge von Reben und Oliven. Geleitet von der Idee, das Dorf zu fördern, wurde diese Ölmühle eröffnet. Dort wird nun hochwertiges natives Olivenöl aus den eigenen Olivenhainen hergestellt.
