This cache was originally submitted to the DuPage County Forest Preserve in the spring of 2020 just as Covid precautions were being put in place. In response to that, DuPage County suspended cache placements and permits. In June 2021 DCFD started to allow cache placements again. I had since forgotten about this cache but was happy when I was called to finish the process of placing it by the lake.
It’s a gorgeous hike on a wide limestone path to GZ. It’s worth noting that the ranger who escorted me on the walk to the cache commented that this was one of his favorite places to visit within the preserves. There is a (barely detectable) footpath between the weeds which takes you to the obvious hiding spot. Bring your insect repellant in the summer months.

- This Geocache is placed on DuPage County Forest Preserve property with permission under permit #625.
- Do not place the following items in the Geocache: Food, inappropriate, offensive, or hazardous materials.
- DuPage County Forest Preserve hours are one hour after sunrise until one hour after sunset. Visitors must not be in the preserves after hours.
- It is the visitor’s responsibility to be aware of the policies and rules pertaining to this preserve.
