Chaowu Wharf on Taiwan Provincial Highway 21 is one of the four major piers in Sun Moon Lake. Looking east, it is a good place to watch the sunrise. Due to the influence of climate, topography and hydrology, the lake is often foggy in the early morning, and the morning mist is even more fascinating under the shining sun. It is known as the "Shuishe Chaofog" and is one of the eight scenic spots in Sun Moon Lake. In addition to being a dock for tourists to take a yacht to view the lake, it is also the starting point for 10,000 people to swim across the Sun Moon Lake. Sun Moon Lake Chaowu Pier is Puli’s first pier after arriving at Sun Moon Lake. The morning and sunset have their own unique colors. The misty cloud curtain is gently opened, and the scenery at every moment is amazing.
位在臺21省道上的朝霧碼頭，是日月潭四大碼頭之一，向東面望去是觀賞日出的好地點。由於氣候、地形及水文的影響，清晨時湖面常霧氣瀰漫，在朝陽的輝映下晨曦薄霧更顯得迷人，素有「水社朝霧」的美名，是日月潭八景之一。此處除了是遊客搭乘遊艇一覽湖光的碼頭，也是舉辦萬人泳渡日月潭的起點，終點在對岸的伊達邵碼頭，全長3.3公里。日月潭朝霧碼頭為埔里抵達日月潭後的首座碼頭，朝霧碼頭風光明媚，晨曦與晚霞各有獨特的色調，輕輕撥開鋪滿霧氣的雲簾，每一個時刻的景色都令人驚豔。
