Bon Echo Provincial Park is a popular camping area in the region.
The trail to the cache is a fairly easy walk through forests and
overlooking cliffs. Beautiful view of Mazinaw Lake en route.
Hidden in a camo'd PB jar, this hike and hunt is well worth it!
This is a very popular area for campers in the summer, and we hope
many take advantage of this beautiful spot. We hid this cache near
the Mazinaw Campground so that many campers would have walking
access from their sites. This cache was hidden by Whiskey Jack and
his Outdoor Education class at Bowmanville High School. We took
over his caches in December '05 and since then we have been
replacing and updating most of them. This one needed some real
maintenence and a new container. We removed the old dead container
on June 15th/06 and replaced it with a brand spanking new one.
Nothing from the old cache was salvagable. The logbook wasn't even
readable. so everything is gone. We hope people will enjoy the new
cache as much as the old one. Please take care to re-hide it
carefully.
There is the usual assortment of trade items. Hiking, canoeing,
campfires, and geocaching! Bon Echo has it all!
