The Wildwood Trail is the longest completed portion of the 40-Mile Loop. From the south, twenty-three miles of forest trails connect the Washington Park Zoo complex, Hoyt Arboretum, Pittock Mansion, and Audubon House through to Springville Road, north, above the St. Johns Bridge. Winding through second growth Douglas fir forest that harbors a wide variety of wildlife and native plant species, hikers and joggers are delighted with the seasonal displays of spring wildflowers and fall colors.
