Lactodorum: Looks obvious that the cache has gone. If the owner subsequently reports it's still there I'll gladly unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

This Cache is a standard green ammo box concealed close to the site of an Iron Age fort.

****************** UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE ********************
Where the description refers to 'accessible bushes', now read 'bare, scorched earth!!!!' It would appear that the land owner has decided to clear out the bushes! I will, in time, relocate the cache, but for now at least, it's a lot easier to find!
************************************************************
Since I have recently heard that the Golf Centre owners have told people not to park at their site unless they are playing Golf, I have had to re-think the parking arrangements for the cache. I now suggest parking in the local village hall car park, which is a few hundred yards down the main road in a westerly direction (next door to a used car dealer). This then gives you the option of walking back to the Golf Centre to start the walk, or take the more direct, although significantly steeper, footpath just east of the Village Hall (easily visible from the road).

From the Golf Centre you can then follow the obvious trail/bridleway up the hill The walk to the cache site is approximately one mile.

Culture vultures can learn more about the site via the info board (N51 26.960 W2 47.127).

The cache itself is concealed in 'accessible' bushes at the foot of a small tree. The co-ordinates given give a location approximately 2 metres from the cache site. In spring/summer I would imagine it will be tricky to get a reliable signal. However, the key words here are 'accessible bushes'. It really shouldn't be too much trouble to find.

I have taken the lat/long of the site from within the bushes. These are; N51 26.882 W002 47.288. These co-ordinates were taken using an eTrex Vista tracking 8 widely distributed satellites, and an error of just 18ft.

I hope this ends the 'have you done it right' controversy!
