ふゆみずたんぼ
鴻巣市では、コウノトリ伝説のある鴻巣にコウノトリを呼び戻すための様々な運動が行われています。
ここ「ふゆみずたんぼ」地区もその一環です。
「ふゆみずたんぼ」は冬に田圃に水を張る農法のことで、田圃にドジョウやカエルやナマズなどの生物が増え、冬には雁、鴨、白鳥などの飛来地にもなります。
これらが土づくりに役立ち付加価値の高いブランド米を作ることが出来ます。
活動の甲斐あって、ここにもオオハクチョウが飛来するようになり、今年で5年目となりました。
将来コウノトリがここでドジョウやカエルを獲る姿を見せることになれば嬉しいですね。
In Kounosu City, various campaigns are being carried out to bring Kounotori( storks) back to Kounosu, where the legend of the stork is told. The "Fuyumizu-tanbo (winter water rice field)" area is one of them. The Fuyumizu-tanbo is a firming system. It floods water to rice field and increases the number of loach, frogs, catfish and other organisms and becomes a breeding ground for geese, duck and swans in winter. They help to make fertile soil and to produce high value-added brand rice. Thanks to their activities, whooper swans have become to come flying here and this is the fifth year. In the future, it would be great to see storks catching loaches and frogs here.
