The father of Izaac Walton owned and ran a pub until his death in 1596, when Izaac was three years old. This seems a fitting name for this geocache.
In 1644 Izaac purchased land at nearby Shallowford, where he said the fishing was excellent. You can visit his museum in nearby Shallowford, the cottage is now owned by the community.
